Organizing Shortcuts
- First, create a folder:
- Select New from the toolbar or menu. Drop down the list box in the Application section, and select the first entry: "->New Folder". Fill in a name for the folder in the Name section at the bottom, and tap OK.
- To move a shortcut into the folder, just drag it in and drop it: Tap on the shortcut, and slide the stylus over to the folder. Release the stylus, and the shortcut will be removed from this folder, and placed in the new one (This can look a little confusing, though. The shortcuts rearrange themselves after one has been removed, and it's not real obvious that you've done what you wanted to do - but you have!
- Alternately, you can use cut and paste: tap on the "cut" button, then tap on the shortcut. It will become grayed to show its "cut" status. Navigate to the new folder, and tap on "paste"
- The shortcuts will always be in rows and columns, starting in the top left corner, but the order in which they're shown can be changed. Put the important ones at the top, or at the bottom, or in the middle - it's up to you. You can also change the positioning and order of your shortcuts. See the Wallpaper page for details.
- To change the order, drag the shortcut to the spot where you want it - in between two of the existing shortcuts. As you drag the shortcut around the screen, you'll see that the shortcuts that you pass over become highlighted. Don't drop your shortcut on one of these highlighted icons! If it's a folder, your shortcut will drop into it. If it's an application, StarTap will tell the application to open your shortcut as a document. Neither of these is what you were trying to do.
- Drop it in between two of the existing shortcuts, and StarTap will reorder the shortcuts immediately to reflect your change.
