The Taskbar Icon
- Down in the Taskbar, by the clock, there's a little StarTap icon (when it's running!). There are several functions to this icon, if you have the stylus in your hand already. Just tap on the icon, and a small dialog box will pop up. There are five buttons across the bottom: Run, Delete, StarTap, Explorer, and Close. The Run button is down and selected when the box pops up. Above the buttons, is a list of the tasks that are currently running on your machine. With the Run button down, just tap on one of the tasks to switch to it.
- To close a task, tap on the Delete button and then tap on the task or tasks that you want to shut down.
- The StarTap button brings up the main StarTap screen, Explorer goes directly to the Explorer screen, and the Close button closes the little dialog (so does clicking anywhere else on the screen).
- Double tapping on the Taskbar Icon has an effect, also. This function lets you page through the applications that are currently running. Double tap once to go back to what you were working on before. Double tap again to page back to the program before that one, and so forth.
- Also, the functions that are assigned to a single tap or double tap can be defined by you. See the section on
Options! Options!
- Finally, you can opt to have your current Battery and Memory status shown in the TaskBox. Go to Control Panel / StarTap / TB Icon, and select Battery and / or Memory under TaskBox Gauges. Note that Battery Monitoring must be Enabled, or else the Battery entry will be grayed out. See the section on SysInfo.
