Check Help
- After you have created a full BackUp Set, you can use these Check functions to verify its integrity.
- Files will do a file-by-file compare between what's in the backup, and what's currently on your machine. It will not find new files that have been added since the last backup. Also note, that some files do change, and the fact that some files are different doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with your BackUp Set. It just means you should do another BackUp!
- Databases and Registry do not compare the current contents with the backup. They do verify the integrity of the backup itself. As TuBu does the backup, it creates CRC codes based on the information in the Databases or Registry. When you Check this backup, TuBu goes through all the same motions as it would for a Restore, but instead of actually writing the information, it just uses it to calculate another CRC. If this matches with the one that was generated when the backup was created, then all the data are valid. If you ever get a "corrupted" message out of Check,
